He touched her hand and the fever was gone. No sooner was she up on her feet than she was fixing dinner for him.

There are at least a couple of different ways to understand this verse. It feels like there's a heavy-handed expectation regarding a woman's place in the household, to be sure. For all of us, however, this is a good reminder that one of the reasons we are healed is to serve. It isn't the only reason - healing is a gift. However, we have the opportunity to share that gift with others.
